In overdenture, the use of the flat-head sphere and the elastic cap with spherical interior, in the extended plaque prostheses, allows a vertical failure during mastication which in some cases combines with gingival yielding, thanks also to the sensitivity of the nylon of the caps which act in a humid environment at a constant temperature. The experience of some dentists leads to the belief that in many cases a stability with minimal trauma is achieved.

Pins to be relined with resin

Never use the ball of the pin.
Cut the pin at the level of the root plane.
Mount the single sphere in parallel in the most suitable position.
Monofusion: cap pin and spheres. In addition to the parallelism, the spheres are out of phase with respect to the axis of the pin.
Shape the wax hood. Apply the titanium sphere.
Cover with wax only three sides of the inclined walls.
Remove the titanium ball from the castable guide base before applying the casting pins.
